The Awards
The Music in Communities Awards (MIC), 2007 is the inaugural national scheme to recognise and reward people and programs that have been most successful in building music-making activities in their community.
Eligibility criteria
  1. Organisation/program has been running for at least 3 continuous years
  1. Program has demonstrably encouraged more people to make music: singing and/or playing instruments.

  1. What are the main activities you undertake to encourage music-making in your community?
  2. How can you demonstrate that,as a result of these activities, your community now has more people making music?
    IMPORTANT: This is the crux of these Awards. To help us compare you with all the other entrants, avoid 'empty platitude' statements and vague assertions. Use statistics, facts, talk about the growth in your participation numbers over the time you have been running, use real-life examples and give us a clear and substantiated sense of how musical participation and activity in your community has expanded because of your program.
