MUSIC AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT
Councils can play an important role in supporting, encouraging and 'getting out of the way of' live music. In 2013 the City of Sydney has delivered a groundbreaking report into live music and live performance with 57 recommendations for action covering policy issues such as licensing and development consents as well as audience and sector development, supporting young people, access, community facilities and more.
PARENTS & MUSIC EDUCATION
As part of the campaign for a more musically active country, our music education efforts now include resources for parents. The Parental Engagement Project is a new initiative to help parents with information about practical action to support music in your school, instrument choices, the new curriculum, the benefits of making music, and more.
