Community Music Directory

National - ACT - NSW - NT - QLD - SA - TAS - VIC - WA

There are a few ways to find a community-based music group, and we find that using listings of groups is sometimes better than a search engine since not all groups have a website.

1) State and national organisations. There are umbrella organisations for pipe bands, brass bands, choirs and other groups. One way to search for a choir, for example, is to look at the ANCA website and use its search function. We have listed some of these on our National Organisations page, while state-based organisations are listed on the relevant state and territory pages.

2) Music in Communities Directory. Search by state, which in many cases will link to a local area. We use broadly the same regional areas as Regional Development Australia, there are 55 in total, although we don't yet have listings for all areas. We also list opportunities in our classifieds section.

Neither of these systems is complete; you will find ensembles in the Music in Communities Network directory which aren't in any of the other directories, and vice versa.
